Cooperation with the St. Petersburg State Transport University
Foreign Partner | Prof. Dr. Ekaterina Blagoveshchenskaya |
Local Partner | Prof. Dr. Lutz Strüngmann |
Date | 2019- |
Since 2019 we have a formal contract of cooperation with the St. Petersburg State Transport University signed by both Universities. The cooperation is based on a long standing international cooperation between Professor Dr. Ekaterina Blagoveshchenskaya from St. Petersburg and Professor Dr. Lutz Strüngmann from CAMMBIO. The main focus of the cooperation is on topics related to group theory, in particular commutative group theory and applications in theoretical computer sciences. Moreover, Professor Blagoveshchenskaya is also interested in mathematics of music and together we plan to initiate a student and hopefully also staff exchange between the two institutions.
Cooperation with the University of Heidelberg
Foreign Partner | Prof. Dr. Norbert Gretz, Prof. Dr. Philipp Erben |
Local Partner | Prof. Dr. Ivo Wolf and Prof. Dr. Markus Gumbel |
Date | 2012- |
Prof. Gumbel has a cooperation with Prof. Erben from the research laboratory for urology. The main focus of their research is the modelling and simulation of bladder cancer. Several bachelor and master theses were developed together.
Cooperation with the University of Strasbourg
Foreign Partner | Prof. Dr. Christian Michel |
Local Partner | Profs. Dr. Elena Fimmel, Prof. Dr. Markus Gumbel and Prof. Dr. Lutz Strüngmann |
Date | Since 2014 a close cooperation with Professor Ch. J. Michel, a bioinformatician from the University of Strasbourg. The main topic of the joint research is the theory of circular codes. Professor Michel is one of the discoverers of circular codes in nature. Since 2018 there is also a cooperation with Professor J-S Sereni from the University of Strasbourg, a well-known French graph theorist. Results of the joint research have been published in several articles in renowned international scientific journals. The cooperation is also reflected in the joint supervision of doctoral theses. |
Cooperation with the University of Bologna
Foreign Partner | Prof. Dr. Simone Giannerini, Prof. Dr. Alberto Danielli and Prof. Dr. Diego Gonzalez |
Local Partner | Prof. Dr. Elena Fimmel and Prof. Dr. Lutz Strüngmann |
Date | 2012- |
In March 2012 a fruitful international collaboration between members of the CAMMBIO and a team of researchers from the University of Bologna (Italy) was established. These are a statistician Professor Dr. Simone Giannerini, a theoretical physicist Professor Dr. Diego Gonzalez and also partially a biologist Professor Dr. Alberto Danielli.
Professors Fimmel, Strüngmann, Gumbel and Wolf from the CAMMBIO as well as several students of the University of Applied Sciences Mannheim are involved in the project. There is an Erasmus cooperation from which numerous students from both Mannheim and Bologna have benefited and spent a semester at the respective cooperation institution. Numerous jointly organized conferences and workshops as well as publications in renowned international journals are also a result of the cooperation.
Cooperation with the Laboratory of biomechanical systems of the Mechanical Engineering Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow
Foreign Partner | Prof. Dr. S.V. Petoukhov |
Local Partner | Prof. Dr. Elena Fimmel |
Date | 2017- |
Since June 2017 we have a formal contract of cooperation with the Mechanical Engineering Research Institute named after A. Blagonravov of the Russian Academy of Sciences — IMASH RAN signed by both Universities. The main direction of the joint research activities of the Laboratory of studies of biomechanical systems of IMASH RAN and CAMMBIO is the fundamental problem of existence of bio-information codes to ensure noise-immune transmission of information on the chain of generations, besides the known genetic code of amino acid sequences in proteins.
Cooperation with the University of Wroclaw
Foreign Partner | Prof. Dr. Paweł Błażej |
Local Partner | Prof. Dr. Elena Fimmel and Prof. Dr. Markus Gumbel |
Date | 2017- |
Since 2017 we have a cooperation with the faculty of biotechnology at the University of Wroclaw (Poland) and since 2019 a joint Erasmus program. The main direction of the joint research activities of Dr. Paweł Błażej and CAMMBIO is the understanding of the structure of the genetic code.
